Additional Lawn Care Services

Regular lawn mowing will keep your lawn looking healthy, green and 95% weed free – without exposing your family and pets to harsh chemicals or pesticides. In some cases, these additional services can help get you on the right path to the lawn you desire:

Lawn Aeration

Aeration involves putting small holes throughout your lawn to allow air, water and nutrients to penetrate down to the grass roots. This helps the roots grow deeper and helps produce a stronger, healthier lawn. Aeration can really help with landscape maintenance because it allows air and water to penetrate down through built-up grass or lawn thatch to the grass roots. We highly recommend aerating lawns on an annual basis.

Lawn Scalping

Lawn scalping refers to cutting your lawn grass extra low, exposing the stems of your grass blades. Scalping your lawn MAY help with your lawn turning green earlier, control of some types of broadleaf weeds, and removal of debris that could contribute to thatch accumulation. However, it is not always a best practice for long-term turf and grass health. We recommend not cutting your lawn any shorter than one inch and not after early spring.

More Information on North Texas Grass Types

The most common grass types in the North Texas area are Bermuda, St. Augustine and Zoysia.

Bermuda Grass

Bermuda grass is the most common grass used in North Texas Frisco lawns because its deep root system is well suited for the heat and low water conditions. It is a thin bladed grass that needs lots of sun and doesn’t grow in very shady areas.

St. Augustine Grass

St. Augustine grass is the 2nd most common grass in our area. It requires more maintenance than Bermuda and needs more water. However it is better suited for shady areas of your lawn.

Zoysia Grass

Zoysia grass is a warm weather grass that can handle both drought and shaded areas. This grass is medium to low landscape maintenance. Zoysia is better suited for low traffic areas as it is relatively slow growing.
